The West Dorset Liberal Democrats are joining local campaigners in collecting items to be sent over to our soldiers and medical staff in Afghanistan. They are serving in very difficult conditions and this is a great opportunity to send our troops some treats. The items collected will be sent over to our soldiers in shoe boxes. You can help by collecting some of the following items.
- Treats: biscuits, fruity sweets, marshmallows and mints, popcorn, chewing gum, pots of custard and rice pudding, small packs of dried fruit and nuts, variety cereal pack, Calipso juices (NOT chocolate or anything else that will melt, NO ALCOHOL)
- Toiletries: Wet wipes, make-up, lip salve, moisturising lotion, foot gel or powder (NOT perfumed soaps or aerosols)
- Games: Travel games, playing cards, mini crossword and puzzle books (NOT batteries or anything heavy)
Please include any other items you feel would be suitable. Letter and cards with good will messages will be greatly welcomed, so please do write to them if you would like to. On Tuesday 8th September, we will be holding a packing session, so please get your items and letters to us as soon as possible. To find out where your local collection point is please email us at ku.gro.smedbil-tesrod-tsewnull@yma or call your Liberal Democrat team on 01935 815947.
