Fiona was first elected on to the Town Council in 1999. “That the residents thought they should “give me a go” made me very proud” she said. Fiona has lived in Dorchester for 27 years, the majority of which she spent living and growing up in Fordington. Although she left Castlefield school to attend university in Plymouth, both Fiona and Nick, her husband, decided to return to Dorchester – how could they not? Fiona’s work life revolves around Community Development – helping to give people a voice and raising issues effecting their community, which is what she does as a Councillor as well! “The eight years I have spent representing you have been rewarding and enjoyable, and I look forward to many more given the chance,” Fiona added.
