When Mayor of Dorchester, I was so proud of the town and its people. Whether at the Carnival, Christmas Cracker Night or at meetings of clubs, the dedication and generosity of residents has been inspiring. My wife Val and I are so pleased to live here and that our two daughters received such encouragement from local schools. During my time as a councillor, I have always worked to improve Dorchester. I was pleased to dedicate the Riverside Reserve and help open the refurbished Borough Gardens. I want to ensure that Poundbury, the Brewery and Charles Street developments enhance our town, that the traffic flows smoothly around the by-pass rather than clogging up the centre and that Dorchester remains as nice a place to live in as anyone could expect.
